At One Life Eston, they run a continuous project called Siyabona. Siyabona’s commitment is to see and acknowledge the communities that have been overlooked and disadvantaged. At Siyabona, the aim is to provide tools and the necessary resources for building the road to a secure future for those in need.
Some of the projects that they run are:
- Restoring and improving a tool shed that is important for garden equipment storage.
- Restoring a deteriorating community hall.
- Improving an assembly shelter for school assemblies.
- Establishing a borehole
- Improving a school library
- Creating a community nursery.
Recently...
The One Life Eston and Mid-Illovo sites hosted an annual medical clinic that allows many in the community to access medical care. The clinic assists individuals with HIV tests, eye tests, dental extractions, reading glasses and medication. Along with the medical clinic, the Eston site goes out to schools and helps start community gardens in the area. There are many outreach efforts underway at the site.
